As research has revealed, music could serve as an alternative or complement to medicine and traditional medical practices as it has a great influence on the mind and soul. Music can lead to better learning, improve memory, help treat mental illnesses, and boost exercise performance.

Alya Al Haddad, one of the music performers said “I am glad to be a part of The Music department program within the Mental health event last week. It was a great opportunity to perform and support others through music, where I expressed myself and shared my feelings.” She then added, “the experience of performing in a different place and occasion than what I used to, like on a closed stage, is very unique, and honestly, I enjoyed it.

Tala Radwan mentioned that the performance was a very endearing initiative, “ It made me really happy to be a part of it and to know that I got to contribute to such an important cause because not enough people here talk about mental health and it’s a subject that affects everyone in different ways so it’s so important that we Address it and honor people who suffer from mental illnesses of any sort and remind them that they’re loved and they’re strong and they’re appreciated just like the rest of the world and honor them because their struggles should mean something. I thought the entire event was very well organized and the people there were very encouraging, incredibly kind and motivational and the activities were fun.
